Head waiter

The Maison Helya head waiter is responsible for setting up the table, welcoming guests, and coordinating service with the entire dedicated staff. They are a professional from the top echelons of hospitality establishments.

Fields of excellence of a head waiter

Perform the service

  • Set the table and/or buffets according to the dishes prepared by the chef
  • Provide plated service, French style, English style... depending on the customer's requirements
  • Serve drinks
  • Clear and clean the table and/or buffets

Ensure the smooth running of events

  • Welcoming guests
  • Ensure the smooth running of private receptions
  • Ensure the comfort of guests

Maintain service and reception equipment

  • Maintain dishes and glassware
  • Maintain reception areas
  • Carry out small maintenance in reception areas
  • Prepare inventories of service-related equipment

Head waiter profile

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar position required
  • BTS Hospitality and Catering / Hospitality school
  • Excellent presentation and communication, sense of service, rigor, thoroughness, discretion, punctuality, reliability
  • Sommelier knowledge
  • Mastery of different types of table service
  • Fluency in French, English appreciated (optional)
