Factotum / Handyman
The factotum or handyman manages all the small jobs and repairs on a property, both inside and out. Highly versatile, they can take charge of suppliers and manage maintenance contracts. They can also look after the animals, the food and the walks if necessary.
Fields of excellence of a factotum/handyman
Supervising the general maintenance of the home
- Diagnose a fault in an installation (lighting, alarm, heating, sanitary facilities, etc.)
- Troubleshooting and general maintenance (lighting, ventilation, intercom, plumbing, air conditioning, etc.)
- Carrying out repairs (electricity, painting, plumbing, masonry, etc.)
- Cleaning glass surfaces: windows, bay windows, glass roofs, conservatories, artists' studios...
- Maintaining terraces, swimming pools, outdoor kitchens, etc.
Other areas of work
- Moving or transporting furniture or bulky items in compliance with safety regulations
- Identifying supply requirements, placing orders and managing stock levels and invoicing for technical equipment
- Monitor work carried out by specialist external service providers
- Maintain exteriors and vehicle(s)
Factotum/Handyman profile
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar position required
- BETC in structural work
- Driving license
- Knowledge of DIY and fire safety
- Electrical clearance required
- Sense of service, thoroughness, attention to detail, initiative, versatility, ability to listen, observational skills
