Butler
The Maison Helya butler supports and supervises all household staff as well as certain external service providers. A hospitality professional, this trusted employee ensures that the premises are well maintained and the owners’ permanent comfort. The butler can accompany his clients outside the property and carry out chauffeur duties.
Fields of excellence of a butler
Supervising the upkeep of the home
- Carrying out or coordinating the cleaning and tidying of the home, and the care of household linen and clothing
- Cleaning, preserving and protecting noble materials and equipment
- Ensure that precious objects are cared for and properly preserved
- Carrying out routine maintenance and organising odd jobs
- Floral decoration and plant care
- Prepare, unpack and store luggage
- Ensuring that the decoration and general atmosphere of the premises are suited to the tastes and expectations of the owners
- Ensuring the security of the home
Manage stocks and coordinate service providers
- Drawing up schedules for household staff
- Participate in staff recruitment and management
- Manage purchases, stocks and the property's overall budget (food, hygiene products, etc.)
- Coordinate suppliers and service providers
- Monitor work
Kitchen and table service
- Supervise the kitchen or prepare dishes according to the owners' eating habits and requests
- Lay the table
- Serve breakfast and other meals/snacks
- Organise receptions and welcome guests
- Manage the cellar
Manage customer journeys and travel
- Driving customers to appointments or on occasional trips
- Take care of guests' luggage and personal belongings
- Ensuring the safety of residents
Butler profile
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar position or in the hotel industry required
- Driving license
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, reliability, availability, managerial skills, discretion, adaptability, sense of service and responsibility, initiative, organisational skills, thoroughness
- Fluency in French, English appreciated (optional)
